//Would you like to coordinate a Reading Force book club?

Not sure how to start a book club? No worries! Read on to find out more…

It doesn’t matter if you’re a first-time book club member, an avid reader, or want to get back into reading – you can volunteer to be a coordinator.

“Thank you again so much for this wonderful opportunity. I have had some really positive feedback from the members who are very grateful to be a part of this.”

Feedback from an RF book club coordinator

Our book clubs are organised by volunteer coordinators, who have the full support from our Book Club Ambassador, Nicola. If you’re interested in setting up a book club in your community, we’re inviting you to become a coordinator. Our coordinators are spouses/partners, serving personnel, reservists, veterans/partners, Veteran Hub Coordinators, Welfare Officers, Military Kids Club Leaders, Service Children’s Champions, and more.

Why run a book club?

Books bring people together. A book club can help members to meet new people, build a strong sense of connection, and reduce feelings of isolation. They are a fantastic way to have fun and with a great selection of books available to our members, there is something for everyone. Each book club member, and the coordinator, will receive three free books to keep. Book club members and coordinators can also choose to receive a (free) copy of our new Reading and Wellbeing Journal.

“I have gone from not reading anything more than a magazine or newspaper, to discovering a real love of reading and ‘getting lost in a book’.”

Feedback from an RF book club member

Our book clubs can be online or in person, and volunteer coordinators are supported by Nicola, at each stage. From sharing ideas on how to get your book club up and running, suggesting suitable books from our available titles, providing questions to ask at the book club meetings, ideas on how to keep your book club going after the three free books and much more, you will be supported by Nicola every step of the way with your book club journey.

“…we laughed nonstop throughout the first meeting which was lovely, we’ve also had some members that haven’t read books for years and have devoured the first book already.”
