Feedback from a book club member
Are you a military spouse or partner who is on the move? Or has recently moved?* Join us to meet new friends, find out about your new local area and enjoy a great read!
With generous funding from The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, Reading Force is delighted to participate in their Serving Families: On the Move programme from now until early 2028. This programme aims to improve the quality of life for Service families who are impacted by relocation as a direct result of Service life.
Our amazing coordinators in each of the three selected areas (Tidworth, Catterick, and Aldershot) will host book club sessions** for spouses and partners to connect through shared-reading, offer a supportive community and fun social interaction. Each session will run for two hours, offering a book club session and the opportunity to find out more about your new area through informal, drop-in networking sessions. Serving personnel are welcome to attend the networking sessions too.
The Book Club & Chat sessions are a great opportunity for a friendly chat about the book, the chance to meet other spouses and partners who have recently moved to the area and enjoy a tasty snack (or two!). First time book club members, avid readers, and everyone in between are very welcome. One of our Reading Force team will lead the session, and there is no pressure to contribute if you don’t feel like it. Books (and snacks!) are free with thanks to the generous funding from the AFCFT.
We can’t wait to meet you!

“Helping to foster a sense of belonging among those navigating the unique challenges of military life.”
Nicola, Reading Force Book Club Ambassador
