Project Description
Staff at Harestock School keenly supported Reading Force to their Service pupils and many families took part. We were thrilled to award them the 2012 prize of most actively participating school – and they won an author visit. Our star author was Sara Starbuck.
Headteacher Mrs Jackie Sankey said:
“I was very impressed with the standard of the scrapbooks the children produced for Reading Force. The scheme had a very positive impact on the Service Families who took part, encouraging the sharing of books with family members. An added bonus was an author visit that the children won on behalf of the school; this was enjoyed immensely as well as encouraging our budding writers to keep writing imaginatively. Our Service Families Support Worker supported the children through this venture and we are as a school really excited about launching Reading Force 2013.”
