Project Description
The Horsley-Menendez family embraced the chance to read together. David was in the Navy for seventeen years and now works for the Ministry of Defence. With his children, Noelia and Alexander, and wife/mum Inma, the family read Lizzy Zipmouth by Jacqueline Wilson. Each member of the family took turns to read aloud, with David helping Alexander, who is five.
Inma wrote in their scrapbook: ‘We loved the fact that in the evenings, we switched the TV off and sat together reading the book and then talking about how we thought the different characters felt and how we felt too. It was lovely that each of us contributed with our thoughts and that the children asked what a word meant if they did not know it.’
Everyone in the family contributed to the scrapbook, and the family have said they are looking forward to taking part in Reading Force again.
