This book is about a boy Matt, who tells the story of his best friend, Aman, a refugee from Afghanistan who is trying to flee the country as the Taliban come into power. Whilst all this is going on, he tries to escape and travels across Europe to get to Britain. Along the way he meets his faithful companion, a dog named Shadow. Despite his difficulty, Aman and his mother push through and don’t stop fighting. After living in England for several years, they are taken away and Matt does everything he can to get Aman back. Aman has his ups and downs throughout this emotional story. Anyone who is interested in current affairs or who just likes an adventure story should read this book.
