Hi everyone,
What a fantastic summer! We teamed up with Connected Forces to create an online book club for 16–19-year-old UK Armed Forces students across the UK and provided three free books to each member. We began with The Blue Book of Nebo by Manon Steffan Ros – a prize-winner in three categories of the Wales Book of the Year Awards. The Blue Book of Nebo paints a spellbinding and eerie picture of society’s collapse, and the relationships that persist after everything as we know it disappears…
Our second book club in partnership with Connected Forces is starting next month. Sign up by October 31st to join us.
As autumn came and the schools returned, volunteer coordinators from around the world got in touch to set up new book clubs. In the last two weeks I have posted out over 70 books to our members! Our coordinators are currently running book clubs for junior children (8-11yrs), senior children (12-16/18yrs) and adults – choosing books from our award-winning titles and authors, including the million-copy No.1 bestseller The Island by Victoria Hislop, Waterstones Book Club choice The Unexpected Inheritance of Inspector Chopra by Vaseem Khan, and Marcus Rashford’s The Breakfast Club Adventures.
Check out our website for the available titles for all our book clubs.
If you have been thinking of setting up a book club get in touch to find out more about how I can support you. You could be a Welfare Officer, Community Development Officer, Choir Leader, Service Children’s Champion – we have children’s book clubs too (age 8+)

Thank you!
Thank you for completing our anonymous surveys. We are grateful for your feedback; it really helps us to find out more about why members join our book clubs. Many of you will have also received our Reading Record – we would love your feedback and suggestions on how we can continue to improve this free resource. If you are currently in one of our book clubs and haven’t yet had chance to complete either of these surveys, please use the links or QR codes below.
Have you spotted the ‘book of the month’ feature on our website?
This month’s recommendation is You Can Do It by Marcus Rashford as recommended by Letitia. Click the link below for other amazing recommendations by our Reading Force community. Press here by Hervé Tullet is a must read for anyone with young children!
